Named in 1929 by E. Steinwachs in honor of Karl Heinrich Emil Georg Busz [February 2, 1863 Cleve, Rheinland, Germany - December 8, 1930 Bonn, Germany], assistant at Bonn University Museum, later assistant at Marburg University, ultimately profesor of mineralogy at Westphalian University and rector of the University, Münster, Germany. Well-known for petrographic studies of Eifel District rocks, as well as Devonshire and Scotland in the United Kingdom. He named kamerezite, manganosphaerite, phosphosiderite, and tsumebite.
