Search for Photos

Enter a mineral name (eg Almandine), and part of a region name (eg Alaska) and this search will find all photos from localities within the region of that mineral. Select type of photo to search and either check all photos or select a subtype for the photos. Alternatively, enter a keyword or photograph type and optionally a locality or mineral name. If you are just looking for photos of a mineral or from a location, the photo gallery links on the mineral and locality pages are easier to use.

The cube faces on these exceptionally glassy and lustrous crystals are water-clear. Aesthetically intergrown, the crystals have typical, contrasting and excellent accessories of galena and patches and isolated white calcite scalenohedrons. Attractive Calcite - it looks as if it was zoned pseudomorphosed by snow. I'm sorry, but it is so unusual that I cannot say anything more scientific!

Fluorite with Galena from Naica, Chihuahua

Stepped Fluorite with light green hints, accompanied by a little Galena. This type of Fluorite is said to grow like Aztec pyramids, so I do wonder if they inspired the ancient Mexicans.
