Name:
Named in honor of Mikhail Vassil’evich Lomonosov (Михаил Васильевич Ломоносов) (19 November 1711, Mishaninskaya, Archangelgorod Governorate, Tsardom of Russia - 15 April 1765, Saint Petersburg, Russian Empire), polymath who made contributions in the areas of natural science, chemistry, physics, mineralogy, history, art, philology, and language. He wrote multiple books on geology/mineralogy and discovered the law of constancy of interfacial angles, relating it with inner structure of crystals.
