Named after Fengcheng city, Liaoning Province, China. The type locality is approximately 60 km NNE of the city.
Chemically similar to eudialyte sensu stricto. Similar to mogovidite in terms of vacancy and ferric iron dominance. Other group members with essential Fe3+ are feklichevite and ikranite.
