Name:
First described as pandaite by Jäger et al. (1958). The name was replaced with bariopyrochlore by the IMA Committee on pyrochlore nomenclature (Hogarth 1977) for the predominant barium content and membership in the pyrochlore group (sensu lacto). Descredited by IMA 2012 (Atencio et al. 2013, 2012 IMA Report) = a zero valent dominant member of Pyrochlore Group.
