CKR-Q6WGiftgrubeite CaMn2Ca2(AsO4)2(AsO3OH)2·4H2O

Gabe Gottes Mine, Sankt Jakob vein, Neuenberg, Ste Marie-aux-Mines, Colmar-Ribeauvillé, Haut-Rhin, Grand Est, France

Field of View: 1.8 mm

Pale pink giftgrubeite clusters.

The mineral was found at the back side of a large picropharmacolite specimen, presumably issued from ancient orepiles left in the adits. The specimen was bought in search of the elusive villyaellenite.

It was analyzed using EDS, with a good match with the ideal formula.

Rowley Mine, Theba, Painted Rock Mining District, Painted Rock Mountains, Maricopa Co., Arizona, USA

Picture https://www.mindat.org/photo-326708.html was so good that a worldwide-renowned dealer used it for his business cards.

Needless to say that neither photographer, nor owner of the specimen, were asked for such use of the picture...

At least the gentleman has good taste!
