Remains of an entrance of the old mining shaft at Kruisrivier cobal mine. Mine workings obviously followed the hydrothermal vein (seen on left) carrying the cobalt mineralisation, hosted by quartz-feldspathic (Beck, 1907)-gabbro (Hammerbeck, 1976) rocks of the Bushveld Complex.

The dumps where the famous erythrite specimens were collected. Associated minerals include asbolane, lollingite, pharmacoalumite, bariopharmacosiderite and arseniosiderite as confirmed by XRD and SEM/EDS analysis.
