A small specimen of Quartz matrix with a vug lined with sharp green crystals of Olivenite up to 1 mm.

Another copper mineral is present in association but as of yet not identified (possibly Chrysocolla).

Collected on the 13th September 2020 from remaining dumps of Wheal Unity Mine, St Day (no, not from the dump at Lemons West Shaft, the Wheal Unity sett has more dumps than that one).

Lodes are shown as red lines, shafts by 'x' marks.

The ES relates to Engine Shaft and the 50 signifies that at the time of the map being produced it stood at 50 fathoms below adit.

A large cabinet sized specimen of Dolomite crystals encrusting Quartz with a small number of well formed and iridescent tarnished Chalcopyrite crystals.

Given this specimen was taken out of the mine as waste and has sat in the dumps for more than 140 years it is in remarkably good condition.

Several well formed Chalcopyrite crystals in cavities with Dolomite and Quartz. Galena and Pyrite are also present on the specimen although not visible in this view.

Collected following permission from site owner on 29th August 2020.

Given that this specimen was taken out of the mine as waste and has sat in the dumps for in excess of 140 years, it is in remarkably good condition.
