723-135Fluorite

Spring Creek Aggregates, Clinton Township, Lincoln Co., Ontario, Canada

Dimensions: 20 mm x 15 mm x 15 mm

Collected on a Walker Mineralogical club trip, this fluorite crystal is clear on the inside with a deep purple exterior and contains numerous zones. The clear fluorite fluoresces under shortwave light similar to the fluorite found at the Flamborough quarry.

TYK-F6PFluorite, Calcite

Multiple photos available
Canal dump, Niagara Falls, Welland Co., Ontario, Canada

Largest Crystal Size: 5.5 cm

A very large crystal of deep purple Fluorite measuring 5.5 by 5.5 cm and who knows how deep. Some delicate Calcite removal has exposed some of the natural crystal faces and overall general shape. When the light catches it just right it looks very deep inside. Makes a nice garden rock.

HVC-DCMCalcite

Highway 403 Roadcut, Wentworth Co., Ontario, Canada

Dimensions: 14 cm x 4 cm
Largest Crystal Size: 23 mm

A plate of small doubly terminated Calcite crystals. The crystals fluoresce purple under shortwave light with a white glow near the ends of the crystals that appears to be a coating of some kind. They also fluoresce under longwave light.

3MQ-73YCalcite

Highway 403 Roadcut, Wentworth Co., Ontario, Canada

Dimensions: 18 cm x 12 cm
Largest Crystal Size: 2.5 mm

A plate of Calcite crystals 18 cm by 12 cm. The specimen fluoresces various colours under shortwave light. Its highly likely that there are other minerals in the specimen beyond Calcite. The specimen also reacts under longwave light as well. Even though in the photo it appears the crystals are sheered off, the face of the plate of Calcite crystals is virtually complete.
