V85-7VHLöllingite, Fluorite, Gahnite, Pyroxmangite, Franklinite, Mica Group

Multiple photos available
Trotter Mine, Franklin Mine, Franklin, Franklin Mining District, Sussex Co., New Jersey, USA

Field of View: 4 mm

Metallic gray löllingite crystal embedded in yellow and colorless fluorite grains with very dark green to black gahnite and mica (probably fluorophlogopite). There is a colorless plate of mica lying on top of the lower right termination of the löllingite crystal. The pyroxmangite is of a grayish color due in part to inclusions of dark green microcrystals of gahnite. This specimen was part of a pile of "black rock" specimens I found on the Trotter dump in 1968. Other specimens from this find had scheelite associated with löllingite, pyroxmangite, fluorite, fluorapatite, gahnite, franklinite and willemite.
