My interest in minerals started in the late 1960s, of all things the secondary school I went to actually had a small mineral collection, quite unheard of in those days.
I wanted to know more so off to the local library I went, followed by a holiday in Cornwall. Most of the minerals that really get me buzzing are mostly ones I collect in the outdoor world. Not uncommon for me to sit in a mucky hole in a mine dump for hours on end, and come away with some very good micros.
