Chris Mavris' Mindat Home Page

I am Christian Mavris, class 1983, Italian-Greek geologist. Passionate mineral collector since the age of 6, Mindat member since 2000, Mindat Manager since 2010.
My professional and collecting activities are only partially separate. I hold a MSc in Mineralogy (University of Parma, Italy, 2006), then PhD in Soil Mineralogy and Physical Geography (University/ETH Zurich, Switzerland, 2012).

Currently, I am a researcher focusing on low temperature mineral weathering and clay mineral formation.
As for my collection focus, I am strongly oriented on European classic specimens, with special interest on localities where I lived and collected personally (Italy, Greece, Switzerland).
