I am a retired geological engineer (MS, University of Arizona College of Mines 1978), only coming out of retirement if an opportunity arises to conduct underground geological work. My interests include mineral collecting, writing, backpacking, birding and traveling. Upon my late good friend Rock Currier's suggestion, I became a Mindat review manager for Idaho (my state of birth, besides being alive according to my doctor) and Arizona. I am the senior author for the 2012 book entitled Collecting Arizona. My personal mineral collecting focuses on Idaho, Arizona, Western USA and Mexico, although the collection contains worldwide mineral specimens; the collection includes a number of field collected specimens. I have presented numerous mineral collecting talks, particularly at the New Mexico and Arizona mineral symposiums, and private groups.
