I started collecting here and there around 4th grade, but none too seriously. Started to pick it up a little more enthusiastically while getting my geological engineering B.S. in Michigan's Copper Country, but really didn't dive back in until around 1999. I live in northern California and am a member of the Bay Area Mineralogists (prez since 2014), Crystal Gazers, and Bay Area Fine Agate Society. I try to get out to field collect now and then but am mostly a "silver picker". Mineralogically omnivorous, but my biggest focus areas are native copper (both aesthetics and localities) and pseudomorphs.
