My partner, Ken Stockdale, and I run aussieminerals.com
I have been collecting rocks and minerals on and off throughout my life, but got serious with it again a few years ago. Most of the items in our collection have been self collected by either Ken or myself.

I have been a lurker on Mindat for quite a while now, and enjoyed looking (and drooling) at the pictures of the minerals from all over the world. Though, I found myself becoming increasingly embarrassed by the lack of pictures, or sometimes poor examples, of minerals from around my local area, considering the mineralogy of the area. I decided the only way to fix this was to join Mindat and show my own pictures to showcase the amazing minerals that are available in the Mount Isa/Cloncurry area.

I, nor my partner Ken, are Geologist, nor do we pretend to be. If you think we have mislabelled a mineral, please feel free to contact us and let us know. That way, we will continue to learn :)
