I have a Petroleum Engineering background, but my career has pulled me away from engineering and more into managerial roles in the oil and gas industry. I have collected minerals since 1994. I am quite fortunate in that

1) have many good localities within reach from my home and
2) have some time available to study geology and mineralogy in my free time.

I try to specialize my collection on regional ( Southern Norway) and other Norwegian specimen. I prefer specimens that have a main crystal of min. 1 cm. These are however only rough guidelines for my collection, and I have got quite a few specimens not meeting any of these criteria

I have been an active contributor to Mindat since 2008, and sine 2013 I have been one of the many managers of Mindat. My main focus is the Best Minerals section of mindat where I publish new articles every now and then. In addition I have a (slightly weird) fascination for the amphibole super group minerals.

Correspondence from Mindat users and contributors is welcome, but as I am not always in a position to give a rapid responce, I apologize in advance for any delays in answering.
