Since I was a child I collect minerals and rocks. My interest nowadays is focussed on good quality specimens, especially Fluorite, Feldspar, Quartz and special crystal forms. I collect some specimens myself (mostly in Germany), but with the decreasing possibilities in the nearby area I also buy and trade minerals from all over the world. I visit mineral shows in the Netherlands and Germany regularly (visited Tucson show once in 1992) and as a member of a geological society I actively partcipate in working groups on minerals and rocks. I also give lectures, courses and workshops on general geology and volcanism, as well as on minerals and rocks.
Next to that I am also interested in the etymological background of mineral names and in registrating and managing a collection. The Mindat Page has helped me a lot with that!

I hope to contribute to the Mindat page with nice pictures and articles in the near future. When you want to leave a comment or get in contact with me, don't hesitate to e-mail me.
