Michael Cox is a retired soil and groundwater specialist who is interested in mercury mines and minerals. Michael completed a B.S. in geology and a M.S. in supply chain management. Michael is a specialist with respect to the New Almaden mines south of San Jose, CA and has also investigated mercury mines throughout Nevada. Michael is Secretary and Educational Committee Co-Chair for the Santa Cruz Mineral and Gem Society, a founder of the New Almaden Quicksilver County Park Association, a founder and Vice President of Friends of Los Alamitos Watershed, and a member of the Mineralogical Society of America, Geological Society of America, American Geophysical Union, American Institute of Professional Geologists, and the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, & Exploration.
