Enchanted Minerals LLC consists of founder and owner Philip Simmons and designer and online sales manager Erin Delventhal, both native New Mexicans.

Phil Simmons has been collecting minerals as long as he can remember. He was introduced to the hobby at age 3, when he was deputized as his father’s “gopher” since he was small enough to fit into the tiny holes. The following years were spent collecting in locations throughout New Mexico and cultivated his earliest passion: field collecting. Years turned to decades, and after earning a bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering and a master’s in Exploration Geology from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology as well as working as a mining engineer for Freeport McMoRan in Morenci, Arizona and Intrepid Potash in Carlsbad, New Mexico, he started a full-time mineral business, Enchanted Minerals LLC, to pursue his passion for minerals while sharing their natural beauty, the science behind them, and the excitement of their discovery with the world. Phil currently lives in Albuquerque with his wife Karen and their orange tabby Hobbes.

Erin Delventhal also grew up collecting minerals with her family – long road trips were frequently punctuated with detours where she and her brothers could get dirty (and very tired) while collecting crystals. Art, photography, and design took precedence as both a hobby and a profession for many years, but a visit to the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show rekindled her love of minerals. She rejoined the mineral community with enthusiasm and has since been an active member in several mineral-related organizations ranging from local to international, has been involved in mineral museums, symposiums, and other educational programs, and has joyously returned to a life punctuated by getting dirty (and very tired) while collecting crystals. Erin currently lives in Farmington with her cat Hayduke.

Our work includes mineral exploration, specimen extraction, specimen cleaning and preparation, and specimen distribution. We also strive to promote education about minerals and New Mexico through sharing our experiences and knowledge and through active engagement in the mineral community.
