My name is Jan Vlk.

I live in Rožná, Czech-Moravian Highlands, Czech Republik.

I started collecting minerals and fossils,about 35 years ago. Because of pyrite and fossils specimens of Ostrava - Koblov that were given to me as a gift. This started my interest.
I studied at mining high school and mining universitet VŠB-TU, read a lot of literature.

My main interest lies in rare minerals (U,Se,Te,V,etc.),typominerals and UV - minerals.
In over 30 years, more or less regularly, I searched in various quarries, dumps and mines for minerals.
I am works in latest uranium mine in EU. I still do regular excursions with enthusiasm.

My main interest lies are in uranium and ore minerals.
I also collect aesthetic, beautiful and interesting mineral specimens from all over the world.
In addition to that I possess an extensive Amonnite collection, a mineral collection from the Czech-Moravian Highlands.
