Description
A world-class, miniature sized, cobaltoan calcite specimen from the Agoudal Mine in Morocco’s Bou Azzer District! This specimen features a grouping of electric pink calcite crystals on matrix, the largest of which measures 3.6cm! The color has to be seen to be believed! These cobaltoan dolomites from Agoudal have set the world standard for pink, at least as far as minerals is concerned. The Agoudal Mine, which is the source of 99% of the cobaltoan calcite from the region, has been flooded for over a year. The prospects for reopening are slim. It seems there will finally be an end to the almost incessant production of these wonderful pink calcites.
