A 4' Hampton Butte, Oregon specimen that is beautifully sectioned - any wood collector would love to own this one! The specimen is actually in the NW mineral gallery in the separate building but it is so fine a wood that I had to include it here with the wood photos.

The Alma Rose

This is the Rice's signature specimen. At over 45 cm tall the rose consists of lustrous deep red rhombs to 4" on a plate of quartz crystals and tetrahedrite with a sprinkling of calcite on the crystal surfaces. This piece is considered by some to be one of the finest three rhodos' in existence.
