The pit has just been pumped out, showing a cross section looking east in the photo. The brown sandy layers on top are Cainozoic alluvials, once worked for tin. The black areas on the LHS are siliceous, pyritic rocks containing little tin or base metals, the hanging wall to the main ore zone. The RHS is an aphibolitic hornfelsed footwall. In ...
