Halite
Staßfurt, Salzlandkreis, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany
Slightly elongated, lustrous and gemmy, colorless crystals of halite, to 2.5 cm in length, are aesthetically emplaced on matrix. This is an old European classic from the famous mines of Germany that have produced for a thousand years, since at least the 1300s. A fine, sharp specimen with unusually good condition and isolation to the crystals.
