Crystal of greenish beryl embedded in feldspar, quartz, muscovite pegmatite in a large boulder on the Maggie Hays ore pile. Photo taken in 2010 just before the restart of mining by Norilsk. Very coarse pegmatite dykes are common in the orebody but are mineralogically simple, with beryl and almandine garnet being the only exotic phases observed. ...
