Huanggang Fe-Sn deposit, Hexigten Banner, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, China
5.5 x 5.5 x 3.5 cm. This specimen is from a brand new 2011 find from Inner Mongolia, China. We call these "bug-eye" fluorites for their isolated, bulbous shape. The two discrete, lustrous and translucent fluorites, to 1.6 cm, are actually composed of sharp, intergrown, pretty sea-green octahedrons with scattered complimentary, purple octahedra. ...
