Picotpaulite, Marcasite

Locality: Allchar (Alsar), Roszdan, Republic of Macedonia

SEM image. Mediun bright in BSE crystals of Picotpaulite within grey prismatic aggregate of Marcasite. Composition of picotpaulite is Tl.64(Fe1.78Zn.19Co.01Ni.01)1.99(S2.57As.14)2.71. Note that marcasite is presented here by two its generation - the earlier more dark in BSE striated prismes and the later more bright (enriched with As) isometric xls (close to center of the image). The most bright in BSE spot in the upper left corner of the photo is the probably new mineral with composition Tl2.07(Fe1.15Zn.11)1.26(S1.80As.13)1.93Cl2.63. Collected by Alois Lechner in 2009.
