“ Massive pentlandite with cleaved millerite from the copper footwall veins of the North Range of the Sudbury Igneous complex. This rare form of millerite was confirmed by me using calculations based on sunlight reflections off the two cleavage faces seen in the photo.
[I measured/calculated 143° while the accepted value is 144°, so close enough.]
Roger (Rogersminerals.com) who sold this item to me stated that this specimen was from a deep section of the orebody in the Coleman Mine and perhaps the chemistry at this depth is different from the shallower orebody mineralization. ”
