Here we see a beautiful rounded nugget specimen of rare alloy of nickel and iron, awaruite, originally called ´Josephinite´ for its type locality in Oregon. These Awaruite pebbles/nuggets occur as detritus in several streams that originate and flow across the Josephine Peridotite. This pebble/nugget weighs 11 grams and has a fine anthracite patina.
