Eudialyte

Marchenko Peak, Kukisvumchorr Mt, Murmansk Oblast, Russia

It is a small crystal of eudialyte (9.5-10.0 mm) and it is not a big reason for me to publish this photo. But its shape is very typical for the specimens from the south slope of The Marchenko peak. The crystal's form is a tabular triangle (or rounded "emergency button") with line imprints of aegirine crystals on the glossy faces of the eudialyte. ...

Astrophyllite

Marchenko Peak, Kukisvumchorr Mt, Murmansk Oblast, Russia

A beautiful, three-dimensional, 2.5 cm radial spray of golden-brown acicular Astrophyllite is associated with a 1.4 cm inverted, fan-like spray of Astrophyllite on a small amount of matrix. Very aesthetic example of a mineral characteristically found embedded in the matrix. Personal collection of Sharon Cisneros.
