Baryte
Baryte occurrences, Châtel-Guyon, Riom, Puy-de-Dôme, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France
9.9 x 8.8 x 1.5 cm. Glassy, translucent, tabular, goldenrod-yellow baryte crystals aesthetically cover this rich and excellent plate from this well-known locale. Very noteworthy are the two larger crystals, to 2.6 cm on edge, with a very nice, frosted, secondary baryte overgrowth. Classic, pristine material from the Bob Trimingham Collection.
