Yuhua stones or Rain Flower Pebbles have been treasured in China since the early 6th century. According to legend the Gods were so impressed with a Monk's eloquence that they rained these down. Such a story must refer to a time when these were easily found on the surface after a rainfall. Today however they must be dug from the Yuhuatai gravel bed.
