This old-timer was labelled "Copper from Wheal Grambler St. Day Cornwall". The entire specimen is crystallized copper. I believe this to be an unusually large crystalline copper specimen from the old Cornish copper mines.
The pumping engine house at Grambler as seen in October 1981. The cylinder loading has been removed from the building as witnessed by the breach in the plinth below the main door in the rear wall of the building. The reason for the removal was at a time there was an intended re-working of the mine and a larger cylinder engine had been acquired, ...
