The pyrite from the S. Giovanni mine forms elongated sticks, on a matrix of yellow-orange dolomite crystals. This is its typical habit on the site, with the "main form being the cube with octahedron faces". Canon EOS R6, bellows, Sun 28 mm, Helicon Focus, Gimp.

7.5 x 4.9 x 2.7 cm. Very rare acicular pyrite crystals. Not only are these rare for the species, but pyrite itself is quite rare for this locality so it is doubly-uncommon. In fact, this is the only such example I have seen, and I find it highly interesting because as common as pyrite is in the world, you would think if it could form this habit, ...
