Aegirine, K-Na-feldspar and Nepheline form aggregate - Tinguaite. This morphological variety of Tinguaite is named "Turtle Tinguaite". Not too abundant variety. Polished surface 6x5 cm. Rinkite-(Ce)

Takhtarvumchorr Mt, Murmansk Oblast, Russia

Prismatic and hexagonal in section crystals of brown Rinkite in nepheline-syenite pegmatite matrix. Associating minerals are white Orthoclase, grey Nepheline, black Aegirine-I and minor pink Eudialyte. Yellow ochres of "Vudjavrite" pseudomorph after Rinkite also are visible at the left side. Parakeldyshite

According to Maurice Strahlen's information found on his website, the material presented here is rather parakeldyshite (resembling feldspar), than it's alteration product, keldyshite (as the specimen was labelled), that in lesser amounts might be present too. Field of view is 2.1 cm.

This specimen was collected by E.E. Kostyleva in 1929. I obtained this specimen from Pavel Kartashov in exchange. The large black aenigmatite crystal is surrounded by brown eudialyte (mesodyalite) and green aegirine. There is some astrophyllite on the back of the specimen (not visible).
