Heazlewoodite

Heazlewoodite (9mm in width, might be mixed with cobaltpentlandite) in serpentinite. Surrounded by copper sulfides of some kind. Nakauri mine is known to produce the finest heazlewoodite specimens in Japan.

The fibrous crystals grow on serpentinized gabbro and are very easy to detach or exfoliate. The surface of the matrix has serpentine-like textures, and it has been measured to contain abundant magnetite, which is magnetic and can be attracted by a magnet.
