Dravite (brown)tourmaline. Specimen was labeled Dobrora, Carinthia, Ausrtia. This is the type locality for the species. Specimen is from the collection of Harvard University #98073 (1972). Scale at bottom of image is an inch with a rule at one cm. This is a good but not an exceptional specimen. Dravites to five or more centimeters are know.

Dravite crystals in mica, probably muscovite, matrix.

Brown-translucent dravite with unspecified black inclusions from the type locality. The crystals appear embedded in a muscovite matrix, so not all faces are well formed. Setup: Sony A7r II, bellows, Raynox 150, aperture, Nikon E-Plan 4x; Zerene Stacker.
