This jasper specimen was collected from a beach at Boddin which is the rocky part at the northern end of Lunan Bay. It was found by me as a sea rolled specimen and then tumble polished. It measures 11cm x 4.2cm x 4.5cm. It has typical colouring for most jasper in this area with red,yellow and white.

This specimen of yellow coloured chalcedony measures 4.0 x 3.0 x 0.7cm in size. It was collected by me in 1966 and was subsequently cut and polished by me. It was found on a shingle beach toward the northern end of Lunan Bay. I gave the name "lunanite" to this straw-yellow,coloured chalcedony in an article entitled "Chalcedony Gems of Craig ...

Small pebble of agate I collected while walking the coast from the Boddin Point lime kiln near Montrose to the Aberdeen ScotRail station on 14 April 2014. A truly wonderful experience I hope to have again.
