Moroccan vanadinites dominate on a world -wide basis, but American vanadinites, like this one formerly in the collection of Ed Ruggiero, can be just as lovely. Old specimen of translucent, orange vanadinite crystals up to 3 mm on colorless cerussite crystals up to 5 mm. The back side is almost completely covered with colorless cerussite. No damage on the front side. Overall size of mineral specimen: 9x5x3 cm. Size of individual crystals: 1-5 mm.

Beautiful brilliant prismatic orange-red hoppered crystals of vanadinite to 1.1 cm in length are set attractively upon a 3.5 x 3.0 x 2.1 cm white crystalline calcite matrix. Very clean of damage; the color contrast makes for a very pretty specimen. Nice for this closed locality!
