Large mass of native copper in matrix collected by Shawn Carlson from the Weyerhauser mine dump. Currently (2019) in the University of Wisconsin - River Falls collection.
Cavity, calcite removed by etching, showing milky quartz crystals, flecks of native copper, radial crystals of epidote and pale green prehnite masses. Ex: Shawn Carlson collection.

Well mineralized wall of the drift. Copper follows along with the white calcite in the massive basalt host rock. I chiseled a few keeper specimens from here. September 19, 2025 photo.
Freshly broken brown basalt exposing native copper and green epidote with minor dark green chlorite. Looks very similar to the rock found in Michigan's copper country.
Native copper chiseled from the wall of the mine.
Red cuprite, interesting orange unidentified mineral, green epidote colorless quartz.
A close up of freshly ripped apart native copper with green epidote, white quartz on basalt.
Red cuprite, Orange Not sure possibly chalcotrichite? Minor green malachite. On a basalt host rock.
Green malachite, red cuprite with native copper on a basalt host rock.
Mr. Sam Anderson examining a copper find on the floor of the mine drift. Do to his previous explorations and detailed knowledge of this locality, he was my guide. September 19, 2025 photo.
An adit near the center of section 12. Probably the #1 shaft. It goes in a few meters and on the left is a flooded shaft. On a slight right it continues ahead and then curves up sharply to the surface. Small coppers were found along the length. September 19, 2025 photo.
A poor rock pile just east of the #1 shaft area. I couldn't locate where this rock came from. Some copper was collected by metal detecting. September 19, 2025 photo.
