Phlogopite

Well crystallized phlogopite pseudomorph after a 28 mm hornblende crystal. The original crystal form is well preserved and the four-sided termination is still clearly visible. Complete and undamaged. Collected in August 1969. Ex. A. Stevenson collection #409. Overall size of mineral specimen: 30x15x12 mm. Size of individual crystals: 28 mm.

Here is a small piece of Talc from the highway 62 North road-cut near Buck Hill road. The whitish line in the middle of the sample is from a scratch test to see if the sample was Talc. The Talc was located near a small amount of Pyrite & was located in a small calcite vein. The sample is 1.9 by 1.6 cm long. From M. Adamowicz collection.

The sample is 14 cm x 8 cm. I received it as a gift in 1969. The pegmatite pocket in a coarse-grained Microcline-Biotite granite contains 1 cm sized Plagioclase crystals. The blue "Peristerite" schiller, characteristic of Plagioclase, is visible on the crystal to the left. In the correct light almost all of the crystals in the pocket have that ...
