Gratonite, Wurtzite

Yunosawa mine, Ikarigaseki, Minamitsugaru District, Aomori Prefecture, Japan

Nicely formed gratonite from a rare Japanese locality. These crystals were found within barite veins associated with black sulfosalts and some dark brown wurtzite. In the image one can discover some of the irregular formed wurtzite scattered among dark minerals, also associated with some sulphur crystals.

Tsugaruite, Baryte

Yunosawa mine, Ikarigaseki, Minamitsugaru District, Aomori Prefecture, Japan

Vein of silver lead-grey Tsugaruite running through matrix, associated with Baryte (overall 4.0 x 3.0 x 2.5 cm). EDX confirmed. From Alfredo Petrov. JF Carpentier specimen (#00694) and photographs.
