Colorless, reverse-sceptered quartz

Sharp, clear, and highly lustrous crystals of Chabazite from the east fork of the Gila River. Field of view is 4 centimeters, self collected in 2007. While zeolites aren't of huge interest to me, the Gila is one of my favorite vacation spots and the crystals are impressive! Michael Cline specimen and photograph.

A single crystal of Chabazite rests in a nest of needlelike Mesolite xtls. 3.2 x 2.3 centimeters. This specimen was actually recovered from a canyon across the road from the grapevine campground, near a dry waterfall. Collecting is quite difficult. Spheroidal aggregates of colorless quartz associated with clay and other minerals.

This is a micromount specimen of chabazite-Ca from the SA Canyon (Grapevine Campground), Gila Hot Springs, Alum Mountain Mining District (Alum Mining District), Grant County, New Mexico.
