Chalcophyllite
Sandbeds Gill Mine, Bassenthwaite, Allerdale, Cumbria, England, UK
Clear green Chalcophyllite crystals up to 1.5mm across formed along cracks in the veinstone. Self-collected from the vein outcrop in 2003. This is a visual identification based on the predominance of arsenates at this site and absence of primary zinc minerals that might give rise to superficially similar secondary zinc minerals.
