Cerasite (of Kikuchi)
Daimonjiyama, Sakyou-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan
Technically these flower-like crystals are "Trapiche cordierite and indialite intergrowths, mostly altered to mica", but the japanese name "sakura-ishi" (cherry blossom stones) is simpler! Most of the ones seen in collections come from Kameoka city, but rarely a few like this one were found in Kyoto city too.
