I'm an former IT Pro who was born and has lived repeatedly in Canada & elsewhere but is currently stationed in Finland again.

My mineral interests started in the late 1970's with the Viitaniemi and Parainen as some of my favorite hunting grounds, among others. I founded a Rock Club with friends in Tampere, Finland but our club was dismantled around 1982 or 1983.

I also used to like to photograph minerals, in normal and UV light, but dot currently have much time or energy for that.

In recent years, I have also studied analytics a lot. I have built my own MicroRaman Spectrometer, with which I contantly endeavour to analyse different materials, including minerals.
I no longer actively collect minerals, but do need to have or borrow many different minerals for Raman reference reasons. I am, for instance, quite interested in phosphates, and also arsenates, vanadates, sulphates etc.
