“Shown is a closeup image, approximately 5mm. wide, of a Schorl fragment containing minor Muscovite and Quartz and three gemmy Spessartine crystals, the largest being about 1.6mm.
It was shot digitally through the microscope at 10X.
The specimen was collected in rubble on the southern slope of Aguanga Mountain directly downhill of the main adit of the old Maple Lode Mine, which currently is fenced and posted. It almost certainly eroded out of the pegmatite above.
