5.4 x 2.4 x 1.8 cm. A gorgeous, doubly-terminated gem aquamarine crystal, 5.5 cm long, and with superior luster to it. It is transparent to translucent throughout, and shows an unusual gradation to darker blue at the core. The termination has an odd color due to minute inclusions of white feldspar fragments that look like they rained down into the pocket during crystal growth, and were caught inside like flies in amber…very interesting in person. The crystal is complete-all-around, except only a very small point of contact, on the lower back face near the associated schorl. From the noted Erongo specialty collection of Heini Soltau.
