4.1 x 2.4 x 2.2 cm. A rarely seen matrix specimen of chondrodite from the gem tracts around Mogok. Originally, this piece came to us labeled as norbergite (from Oakssaung Hill), but further analysis has shown that these pieces are chondrodite (possibly clinohumite). With that said, they are some of the best matrix specimens of gemmy chondrodite that I have seen from any locality in Burma. This piece features sharp, translucent crystals of chondrodite associated with a small red octahedral spinel on massive grey/white calcite matrix. The crystals have good overall form, with a waxy luster and beautiful orange color.
