Francesco Bedognè died, a sad loss for mineral collectors and academics.

Last Updated: 22nd Jul 2012

By Paolo Giovanni Biffi

Francesco Bedogné, an important collector and expert in minerals, died on 17 July 2012, during a vacation on 'island of Crete.
Francesco was, since the mid 60's, one of the most active prospectors and mineral collector and one of the people who most contributed, in Italy, to the development of regional mineralogy. He wrote dozens of articles both on scientific journals and on information magazines and moreover some key books on the mineralogy of the Sondrio Province .
Most of all, he was for many a friend to go along the mountain paths, to drink a glass of good wine and enjoy good food and his spirit always serene.

All his friends, and those who simply knew him, feel closer to the family.
